Rev,Dr,Michael Amaladoss.SJ , born on December 8 , 1936 in Tamil Nadu (India), is an Indian Jesuit priest, theologian and writer engaged in interreligious dialogue . Musician, he contributes significantly in the field of 'Faith and Culture', especially in his hometown of Tamil Nadu ( South India ). Biography Originally from Tamil Nadu, Amaladoss entered the novitiate of the Jesuits on June 17, 1953. At the end of the traditional Jesuit formation, he was ordained a priest on March 24, 1968. He then specialized in liturgy and obtained a doctorate in sacramental theology from the Catholic Institute of Paris . Amaladoss teaches theology at the Tiruchirapalli Seminary (Tamil Nadu) and at the Vidyajoyti College of Theology in Delhi (1976-79). He is also director of the journal of theological theological reflection 'Vidyajyoti'. (1973-1977). From 1979 to 1983 he is in charge of formation programs of the Society of Jesus in India. In 1983, Amaladoss was in Rome for the 33rd General Congregation , during which he was elected as one of the four General Assistants of Peter-Hans Kolvenbach , the new Superior General of the Jesuits . Responsible in particular for issues of evangelization with inculturation of faith, and ecumenical and interfaith dialogue , he remains in this position until 1995. Returning to India in 1995, he is again professor of theology in the theology of New Delhi, dealing especially with the third cycle of studies. In 1996 the 'Regis College' of Toronto (Canada) conferred on him an honorary doctorate. Since 1999 Amaladoss has been in Chennai as Director of the Institute for Dialogue with Cultures and Religions at Loyola College in Chennai .
